Ryan is a special education teacher of mild/moderate disabilities serving students with visual & auditory processing disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorders (ADD & AD/HD), emotional disturbance, and autism. He is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and has served on the Board of Directors as the Western Region Assistant Vice President, representing college students in the states of California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Washington, and New Mexico. He is the former Youth Director/Pastoral Staff Member at First Church of God…Center of Hope in Inglewood, CA under the now deceased Bishop Gregory L. Dixon. He has served as the Chair of the School Site Council at Kettering Elementary School in Long Beach, CA. Ryan is a current Den Leader for the Boy Scouts of America, Pack 848, through West Angeles Church of God in Christ. As a member of the AAFF Museum Board, he is proud to secure the legacy of his father, Reginald Ballard, Sr. who is an original Stentorian (the Association of African Americans in the Fire Service), and the several men and women who serve in the fire service, past, present, and future. He is married to the lovely Nicole and together they have three wonderfully energetic and bright sons whom they homeschool.
