Sculpture of Arnett “The Rookie” Hartsfield

The sculptures is Artis Lane, an exceptional and recognized artist that has created many works all over the United States and Canada. Her most recent work can be viewed in the Nation’s Capitol, a large bust of Sojourner Truth. For more of her work please visit www.ArtisLane.com.

We are blessed to have her here in Los Angeles where she resides. She has graciously accepted the commission to create a bust for our noted historian here in L.A. Mr. Hartsfield is 92 years old and continues to devote 12 hours a week volunteering at the African American Firefighter Museum. As an LAFD Firefighter in the 1050′s he led the integration of the Fire Dept from the Black Firefighters stand point. Mr. Hartsfield holds a Law Degree from U.S.C. and a B.A. in Economics.

The unveiling will take place sometime in August. All are invited to come. Stay tuned for more info.
