In order to achieve its mission in collecting, conserving, and sharing the heritage of African-American firefighters, the African American Firefighter Museum seeks to build a collection of oral histories submitted by former and current African-American firefighters, as well as community members. This collection of stories entitled, In Our Own Words, will be shared on this site.
